Contract


Use of alcohol or drugs will result in IMMEDIATE EXPULSION. Residents suspected of substance abuse will be subjected to a urine test. If a resident is away from the house for two (2) or more days, for any reason, a urine test will be completed upon his return.

Residents will transfer directly to Sees-the-Day, Inc. from the treatment facility. Upon arrival, resident will start a 30-day probationary period and must:

  • Complete an Intake form
  • Complete and sign a Consent form
  • Complete an Inventory sheet
  • Read and sign House Rules form
  • Read and sign Housing Contract
  • Pay $200 Security Deposit, plus $20 Key Deposit, plus $160 (two weeks' rent), and $50 (two weeks' grocery money).

During the probation period:

  • No visits with significant others are permitted on or off the premises unless approval from other house members.
  • During probation residents must stay on premises every night.
  • Observe midnight curfew—exceptions are Alcoholics Anonymous and/or Narcotics Anonymous (AA/NA) functions when accompanied by another resident not on probation.
  • Resident must obtain a signature for each AA/NA meeting attended.
  • Choose a home group, according to AA/NA guidelines.
  • Choose a sponsor, according to AA/NA guidelines.

Each resident must attend a minimum of 90 AA/NA meetings in 90 days. After 90 days, a minimum of four meetings per week is required. Attendance will be reviewed at each weekly meeting.

Each resident must attend all weekly house meetings.

  • All rent and grocery money must be paid weekly. Advanced payments will be accepted. Prior to each meeting, resident will meet with the house president to pay rent and grocery money—receipts will be given. Resident's expenses must be paid on time. Rent is $80.00 per week and groceries are $25 per week. If a resident owes two (2) weeks of expenses, he/she is subject to expulsion. If a resident falls behind in his/her payments, a payment schedule will be developed by an employee of Sees-the-Day, Inc. If he/she fails to honor this agreement, he/she will be expelled. Residents' accounts will be charged $20 for any returned checks.

Each resident must be employed, or perform Community Service, for a minimum of 25 hours per week. Employment/Community Service must be obtained within seven (7) days of arrival at Sees-the-Day, Inc. Employment must conform to the House Rules.

Residents' progress toward employment and recovery goals will be addressed at each weekly meeting.

Each resident must complete aftercare as required by the referring rehabilitation counselor or parole officer. Release of information (Consent form) must be completed. If upon arrival, no plan is presented, a minimum of 12 weekly counseling sessions will be recommended.

Resident must self-administer medication as prescribed by physician. Resident may not discontinue medication without a physician's order. Prescribed narcotics or pain killers must be turned over to house president who will turn over medication to the resident as prescribed.

Disruptive behavior is grounds for immediate dismissal. Disruptive behavior is defined as follows, but is not limited to:

  • Threats of verbal or physical violence
  • Physical violence
  • Gambling
  • Destruction of house property
  • Loud music, television or radio
  • Stealing
  • Breaking confidentiality
  • Abusive/loud arguments
  • Not abiding by House rules

All decisions regarding expulsion and rule changes will be made through a house vote with a designated Sees-the-Day, Inc. employee and/or owner(s) present. Owner(s) or designated Sees-the-Day, Inc. employee has the final authority to overturn any house decision.

Resident must respect the anonymity of all residents. Resident and/or house business is confidential and must not be discussed outside of the house meeting. Personal problems should be discussed with a counselor or sponsor.

Resident will be responsible for completing assigned chores. Chores will be assigned by chore coordinator.

All overnight stays off the premises must be approved by house officers. The latest approval for an overnight visit will be given at 8:00 p.m. the same night. If possible, plans for overnight visits should be discussed at the weekly house meeting. All residents are required to stay a minimum of five nights per week in the house. Residents must have their rent and food paid-in-full in order to be eligible for a weekend pass.

House curfew is 11:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 1:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday, unless working a third shift job.

No visitors allowed in sleeping areas. Visiting family members may be shown the area for a short time (10 minutes maximum).

Room inspections may be completed at any time by house officers, authorized employees of Sees-the-Day, Inc. and/or building owners.

Residents are required to give a two-week notice before leaving. Anyone expelled from the house will not be permitted to return to the premises for a minimum of 60 days, with the exception of picking up personal belongings. This must be done within three (3) days of the expulsion, or the belongings become property of Sees-the-Day, Inc. and will be distributed as needed. All rent must be paid in order to receive personal belongings. Prepaid rent and security deposit will not be returned if a resident is expelled.

Smoking rules must be followed.

Sees-the-Day, Inc. is not responsible for stolen or missing property.
